The Future of Solar Manufacturing with PI Energy

During 2019 and 2020, the US installed about 12% of the global solar module supply according to IRENA. As a result of global supply chain and trade issues, US solar PV installations are now facing higher prices and a restricted component supply from current global PV suppliers. The US only produces 3% of solar modules installed globally (IEA 2020). Only 1% of solar cells produced globally, the critical component of solar modules, are fabricated in the US:

For the US to meet its clean energy goals, it is important to develop a far larger solar PV module manufacturing base in North America. PI Energy’s technology is ideally suited for a fast ramp-up of local solar module fabrication, while using non-toxic and earth-abundant elements, for a low-cost and competitive clean energy.
